Anovos Battlestar Galactica Double Tank Top Review

So say we all!
It's been a while since I've done a product review, but I have to tell you about my new Battlestar Galactica Double Tank Top from Anovos.  I have been wanting this for a while, and when my mom asked what I wanted for my birthday, I sent her the link to this shirt.  It was delivered late last week, and even though my birthday is still two weeks away I didn't wait to open it & wear it.

I love this shirt so much!  I totally feel like Starbuck when I wear it.  I asked for the Premier Line, which is made from the exact same material that was used for the show costumes and is a polyester-rayon-spandex blend, because I thought that material would be better for running.  There is a Standard Line that is cheaper and made from 100% polyester that would certainly work if you just wanted a costume.  Check out this review on Geeking in Indiana for more about the Standard Line shirt.

Twins?
The shirts are uni-sex, so I requested a medium, which is what I usually wear.  The fit is just perfect!  I wore it yesterday for my 8.5 mile run.  I got started a bit later than I meant to, so the temp was already in the upper 70's and the humidity was rising.  Even though the shirt isn't advertised as sweat-wicking, it performed much like my other running apparel does in that weather, so I was very happy with it.  Also, it's really designed well - I had no irritation at all from seams or edges or anything.  I can see why the Viper pilots liked these - very comfy!

I keep saying shirt singular, but it actually is two separate shirts.  They didn't feel bulky at all, and I don't expect I would ever wear one without the other, so I will probably always think of them as one unit.  The care label says machine wash & dry, but I plan to air dry it like I do my other workout gear.

Even if you aren't into cosrunning, it's still a good quality shirt, but for BSG fans this is a must have!

Weekend Recap: a PR & a Parade

This weekend, Mark & Laura both PR'd at the Brevard White Squirrel Festival 10K (link goes to official results).  Mark's time was 50:11, 2nd in his age group, 20th overall and a PR by 5 seconds.  Laura's time was 51:54, she won her age group, was the 5th woman & 27th overall, and PR'd by 2:21!

She said the course is hard but fun - it's the same course they use for the Halloween race in Brevard - and credits the speed work she's been doing for her faster time.  She's trying her best to talk me into running it with them next year.

Weekend Recap: 3 Sisters 3 Races 1 May Day

All three of us were running yesterday, so I'm going to recap them all, & give you a preview of next weekend too:

In WNC, Laura & Mark ran the Cradle to Grave 30K Trail Run, a run from the Cradle of Forestry to Graveyard Fields and back, using mostly trails and US Forest Service roads.  A beautiful run through gorgeous scenery, to be sure, but a very tough run as well.

500 Festival Mini Marathon Recap

This race was an amazing experience!  I have to thank Blue Mile again for their training and support, and for giving me the opportunity to run this race as part of Team Blue Mile.  And thank you to the 500 Festival for putting it on, and to the thousands of volunteers, and thousands more people who lined the course to cheer for us, just because.  Wow.
